People of the OCQ: Samantha
After more than two decades in the corporate world, burnout wasn’t a concept for Samantha Beaudry — it was her lived experience. Her body made it clear something needed to change.
“I hit a point where I couldn’t just push through anymore,” she says. “I needed to slow down and reconnect with myself.”
That turning point led Samantha into the world of holistic wellness. What began as personal healing and curiosity soon grew into a deeper calling. She explored energy work, crystals, herbal studies, and body-based therapies. In time, she trained formally as a reflexologist, Reiki master, and certified crystal healing practitioner.
“Reflexology is all about bringing the body back to its natural harmony,” she explains. “Our feet carry us through everything — work, family, stress, life — yet they’re often the last part of us to receive care.”
Samantha offered her first sessions part-time while still working full-time in her previous career. That small, part-time practice has since blossomed into The Foot Alchemist, a sanctuary tucked inside the Old City Quarter.
Each session at The Foot Alchemist is unique; blending reflexology, Reiki, crystal and sound healing, and even oracle cards and hot basalt stones. Clients are encouraged to pause, breathe, and notice how their body feels when it begins to relax. “It’s relaxation for the heart, body, and sole,” she says.
“I want people to have a space where they can step away from the demands of daily life and just breathe,” she says. “To feel relaxed, more balanced, and more like themselves.”
“Alchemy is a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination,” explains Samantha. That’s exactly what she aims to offer, a blend of healing tools and intuitive energy that helps transform stress into calm, and burnout into balance.
Since opening in 2018, the Old City Quarter has been more than a business location, it’s been a community. “There’s such a creative, grounded energy here,” she says. “It felt like the right place, the right moment, and the right energy.”
When she’s not in session, you’ll likely find her walking in the forest, spending time with friends, or doting on her cat, Pippi (@adventuresofpippi). A lifelong learner, she’s always expanding her knowledge of holistic health, nervous system support, and intuitive practices.
Samantha describes that supporting local is about connection. “When you support a local business, you’re supporting someone’s passion, someone’s dream. That energy ripples out into the whole community.”
And at The Foot Alchemist, that ripple begins with something as simple — and as powerful — as relaxation.
